Italian City Chooses Wireless Surveillance for Public Safety

Mira municipality in Venice, Italy deployed RADWIN's wireless systems for a city-wide wireless video surveillance network. RADWIN systems deliver high resolution, real-time video from cameras deployed across the city and along highways back to the municipality's command center. The RADWIN-based wireless surveillance network in Mira watches over the city, providing personnel in the command center and the police department with real-time video for effective detection and response to crime and other incidents as well as traffic monitoring. Teletronica, a leading Italian-based system integrator, was in charge of project implementation.

Enzo Serpani, Technical Coordinator for the Mira Video Surveillance Project, commented on behalf of Mira municipality: “RADWIN's wireless systems enabled us to deploy a highly sophisticated video surveillance network that transmits video from multiple camera sites, including parks, schools, shopping areas and highways.

Roni Weinberg, RADWIN's EVP and COO, said:”The fact that RADWIN was chosen for this municipal security project is testament to our leadership in large-scale video transmission networks. Today our solutions are deployed in video surveillance projects worldwide - ranging from safe city projects, traffic surveillance, border control and perimeter security. We are proud to add Mira municipality to this ever-growing list.”
