Korean Electronics Plant Implements Integrated Security With HD Cameras from Axis
In July 2011 Cabot Microelectronics Korea built a 6,600-square meter manufacturing plant within the Pyeongtaek Oseong Industrial Complex. In July 2011 Cabot Microelectronics Korea built a 6,600-square meter manufacturing plant within the Pyeongtaek Oseong Industrial Complex. For the security of the new plant, internal and external network video solutions were introduced to allow real-time monitoring, search and playback of recorded images. This enabled the US Head Office to access and directly monitor the plant in Korea.

Management wanted a client/server-based security system enabling the US Head Office to oversee what goes on in the local plant Cabot Microelectronics. Searching for an appropriate solution, the company selected Axis network cameras. The video surveillance system was successfully installed in several sites, and met the requirements of the Head Office.

Cabot Microelectronics reduced installation costs by using Power over Ethernet to make it possible to supply power and transmit images with the network cable alone, without installing a separate power supply. AXIS network cameras were installed on the building's exterior and stand-alone optical link systems in the external terminal box, with a cluster system in the communication room to establish an optical communication network; and thus overcome the limitations of LAN cable communication and make sure that the image quality is not affected by noise or external environment factors.
