Hungarian Towns Covered by Intellio Cameras

Hungarian Towns Covered by Intellio Cameras
Rg-Net has been installing and operating surveillance cameras in Hungary for years. In the towns and villages with such cameras statistics indicate a clear improvement, says Vilmos Menyes, Project Director. Rg-Net deployed Intellio cameras in 8 villages last year, with many of them asking for an expansion of the system. Installation has always been executed with respect to local needs. In numerous places - mainly by major inbound roads - cameras communicate with the server via wireless devices, while in other locations they utilize the broadband network of cable TV.

Monitoring events can take various forms: alerts with high quality, real time footage may be transmitted directly to the police, while some clients have required only the storing of recorded footage along with the possibility to track back to any events quickly and in high quality.

The intelligent motion detectors of Intellio cameras do not send images to be recorded unless there has been motion in the field of view to avoid overloading the system with useless footage. This comes very handy whenever there's demand for trackbacking. Using the slideshow function the estimated time of the crime can be displayed on the client interface. Then we can keep narrowing down the period investigated to find the event a few clicks later.

Jasz-Nagykun-Szolnok Region
While regional capitals and major cities can afford to independently bid for deploying their own security surveillance systems, small villages of several thousand residents or fewer have no chance to do that. Regional cooperation was successful in case of four villages of the Jasz-Nagykun-Szolnok Region and after winning a tender they now employ Intellio cameras to monitor streets.

In the first round there were 4+4 high definition, day and night IP cameras deployed, mainly to observe in- and outbound traffic, whose rationale is the realization that crimes in small towns and villages are typically committed by out-of-towners.

Cameras by town limits effectively deter potential wrongdoers. Any crimes that are still committed are investigated through quick, event-based video trackback. The system is easily scalable: after an initial test period one of the towns deployed 20 cameras - 4 of them capable of licence plate recognition - in the hotspots of the town.

Magocs, Kaposujlak, Adand, Dravafok
In the South Transdanubia Region Magocs was the first to have Intellio high definition IP cameras deployed by Rg-net. The local council intended to monitor inbound and outbound traffic along with a major square. Improving crime statistics have prompted the local council to expand surveillance of the hotspots of the town.

Kaposujlak have drawn the conclusions from the example of Magocs and made the decision to deploy a surveillance system. The mayor of the small Somogy village was convinced by the positive experiences of Magocs and the flawless operation of the system.

Adand operates four IP cameras through wireless devices to monitor in- and outbound roads. Dravafok was intent on deploying cameras in several dangerous junctions where countless accidents had happened due to motorists not yielding at the junctions. The Intellio system is easily scalable, and the need is present in a lot of cases. Local councils are eager to deploy cameras and are looking forward to obtaining the necessary funds from tenders.
