Synectics Celebrates Security Innovation Milestone

Global surveillance solutions business Synectics, is celebrating 30 years of security innovation. The company’s COEX brand, which pioneered the world’s first Ex certified thermal camera station, has been protecting some of the world’s most significant oil and gas, marine and critical infrastructure projects since 1985.
COEX has evolved as one of the industry’s most recognisable names, renowned for hazardous area, safe area and thermal camera stations specifically developed for demanding industrial environments.
Part of Synectics’ range of surveillance solutions for global markets, COEX camera stations are deployed on projects including Kashagan, Shell Pearl GTL and Gorgon.
In the past 10 years alone, over 10,000 Synectics COEX camera stations (hazardous area, safe area and thermal) have been delivered to customers across the globe to secure and safeguard vital industrial operations.
To mark the anniversary Synectics held a special event at its UK Operations Centre in North Lincolnshire, having relocated COEX manufacturing there in late 2014.

In addition to the first Ex certified thermal camera station, the COEX product suite from Synectics includes industry innovations such as the TriMode, which provides three light-condition operating modes in one unit (colour, mono and thermal imaging).
Most recently, Synectics launched a new breed of ruggedised High Definition IP COEX? C3000 camera stations with on-board compression technology which delivers a native IP output directly from the station, removing the need for separate encoder units. The HD IP stations can operate at at temperatures up to +70°C and as low as -55°C.
