Secutech 2025 has entered its final day. Exhibitors are using this occasion to pitch their products and solutions one last time to visitors and potential customers. Below are some of the highlights seen on the last day of the show.

AI-enabled DVRs/NVRs

With AI now being nearly ubiquitous in security, many exhibitors are showcasing their AI solutions. One of them was AVTech, which displayed their AI-enabled DVRs and NVRs that can work with any AVTech or third-brand cameras to help users achieve various security and non-security objectives. When working with a camera deployed at the parking entrance of a building, the NVR can instantly tell whether an incoming vehicle is whitelisted or blacklisted, and get the system to grant/deny entry accordingly. The solution can also be used for facial recognition, whereby a known person can be granted entry into a facility. All events are stored and can be retrieved quickly through a search query.

Cutting-edge locks

A highlight of the show this year is the Taiwan Excellence Lock Pavilion, where high-quality, cutting-edge made-in-Taiwan locks are displayed. Among the exhibitors was Tong Lung Metal Industry, which makes some of their smart locks for their parent company Kwikset, a leading smart lock brand in the U.S. Kwikset in turn is a subsidiary of ASSA ABLOY. The Tong Lung-made Kwikset locks target mostly the residential sector and range from high end to entry level. One of the higher-end models supports facial recognition which allows the resident to open the door with their face as they approach their home, delivering a fully automated smart home experience.

I-Tek Metal Manufacturing, which markets its locks under the Klacci brand, is offering several smart locks supporting mobile access control, a major trend in security. The user only has to open their app and point the phone at the door, and it will open. The administrator or the homeowner can also issue access rights to guests or other known users. The locks, which also support cards as an authentication factor, target residential communities as well as hotels and bed and breakfasts. The locks are certified for their excellent fireproof and dustproof features and can be found in different markets across the globe.

Service robot

Finally, Waferlock is a Taiwan company also specializing in smart locks. The company brought to the show various smart lock models supporting a variety of authentication methods including face, fingerprint, cards, passcodes and others. The locks target mainly residential and hospitality sectors.

Given the above-mentioned sectors are experiencing a shortage in manpower, Waferlock has decided to also expand into robotics. At its booth the company showcased its service robot for residential and hospitality sectors, where the robot can perform various functions. For example, a delivery person can put the delivered item in the robot and input the floor and residential door number. The robot will then head to the elevator which will direct the robot to the designated floor. It will then take the delivery to the said residential unit, where the resident will already be waiting at the door being informed by the app. The robot is already deployed at a Taiwan hotel, and Waferlock is also discussing opportunities with residential real estate developers.

Secutech, organized annually by Messe Frankfurt, is held in Taipei this year from May 7 to 9. Next year it will be held April 22 to 24 at the same venue, Nangang Exhibition Center. See you there.
