The VEGA™ rugged housing
The Redvision VEGA™ is a fixed camera housing, which augments Redvision’s rugged, product portfolio. The housing seals against dirt, moisture and dust ingress. It allows an optimal combination of fixed cameras and lenses to be used in tough, outdoor environments.
Rugged, outdoor design
The VEGA™ has a durable, die-cast aluminium body for rugged, outdoor operation. Its anodised castings and brackets are marine finished with a corrosion-resistant plating on all parts and mountings. It is then powder- coated in light grey (RAL 7035) as standard, but can be custom-finished in any RAL colour at extra cost.
The VEGA™ is IP67 weather-proof rated and IK10 shock and vandal-resistance rated (excluding glass*).
*A Polycarbonate, IK10 window option is available, at extra cost.
Cable-managed housing with built-in junction box
The Redvision VEGA™ is fully cable-managed, with two 20mm cable glands for easy cable access. Cables can be terminated inside the camera housing itself, so no additional junction box is required. Installation is simplified and the risk of damage from malicious attack, moisture, corrosion or dust is reduced. The housing is symmetrical, allowing for pendant or pedestal mounting to ceilings, walls and soffits.
Tru-park wiper
The Redvision VEGA™ has a flat, toughened glass camera window, to protect the camera and lens. This allows the VEGA’s Tru-park, silicon wiper to remove dirt and water from its surface. It remains out of sight, when not in use, concealed behind the housing’s front bezel. An optional washer assembly kit can be added, so that the glass can be cleaned. The wiper and washer are both controlled by a specially designed, CHAT™ camera interface board, operated using the universal, Pelco telemetry protocol.
The flat glass is optically-correct, ensuring that the VEGA™ housing delivers minimal image distortion and outstanding, low light performance.
CHAT™ camera interface board
The Redvision VEGA™ includes a CHAT™ (Camera, Heater and Tru-park wiper) interface board for power, audio, washer and wiper control. Power options include 12VDC, 24VAC and PoE. The CHAT™ interface board enables wiper control and washer activation, using Pelco telemetry protocol via an RJ485 connection. If telemetry control is not available, automatic wiper and washer activation intervals can be configured using dip-switches.
VEGA™ 2010 housing options
The Redvision VEGA™ 2010 housing accommodates camera and lens assemblies of 228 x 80 x 100 (D x W x H) mm with Tru-park wiper and 290 x 80 x 100 mm without Tru-park wiper.
Custom Options
The VEGA™ housing and camera can be customised for increased temperature range, colour, extra marine finish, branding and wiper.
