Taipei, Taiwan, December 9, 2019 – LIPS Corporation, the global leading provider of AI-enabled Industrial 3D Sensing Solutions, is launching the all new LIPSedge AE400 Industrial 3D Camera powered by Intel RealSense Technology.

Designed to meet the stringent and tough environment on the factory floor, LIPSedge AE400 features GigE Ethernet Interface with PoE (Power over Ethernet) and IP67 classification to protect against dirt, dust, or water splashes. AE400 also has built-in RK3399 core and 6-axis IMU to enable edge processing and provide positioning data for broader applications. Best of all, it's 100% compatible with RealSense SDK 2.0 and ensures seamless migration of existing applications.

In the past, RealSense cameras are difficult to deploy in the factory environment due to lack of GigE w/ PoE interface that allows data and power transfer over long distance. In addition, the dusty and humid industrial environment also posts great reliability challenges for RealSense cameras with the current housing. With LIPSedge AE400 Industrial 3D Camera, these are no longer the issues.

In addition, LIPSedge AE400 features RealSense D415 camera module which delivers excellent depth accuracy and the advantages of stereo camera technology such as better sensing for metal surface, better performance in short range, and provides higher resolution comparing to ToF cameras.

With LIPSedge AE400, many industrial 3D applications also no longer require slow and more expensive line scan camera to generate the 3D point cloud and can reduce the costs substantially. LIPS also offers a strong portfolio of middle-ware compatible with Intel RealSense technology and turnkey services designed to enable fast deployment.
