What's the best way to get your voice/concern heard?

Security systems typically operate 24/7 and are more susceptible to wear and tear than normal IT appliances and consumer electronics. When they do fail -- more frequently than what you had hoped for, how do you let your solution provider(s) know and get them fixed/replaced efficiently?
