Cabaprox or the Combined Access and Biometric Access System from the CDVI Group combine the security of fingerprint and the flexibility of smart proximity tags. Each Cabaprox reader is mounted stand-alone at each door and the users’ finger or fingers are stored on the smart card or tag. Users simply present their smart cards or tags and then present their fingers for combined validation. Because the access rights and fingerprints are stored on the smart card or tag, the Cabaprox readers do not need to be administrated or connected together. All administration is achieved through a single PC workstation using the Cabaprox software console. This consists of a Windows software package, smart card writer and fingerprint acquisition unit. All access control rights and fingerprint templates are issued at one central point.
