These components are tamper resistant FIPS 140-2 level 3 government certified. Non FIPS 140-2 level 3 miniature chip design also available for licensing or re-sale. (The Component is also currently under evaluation for Common Criteria EAL4+ ). Additional applications include automated centralized key management system, or inserting application code into the component to run in a secure environment.

nCipherˇs miniHSM supports a wide range of cryptographic algorithms, including all common symmetric- and asymmetric-key cryptographic algorithms (including 3DES, AES, RSA, DH etc.) as well as more specialist algorithms such as Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) . Incorporating a true random number generator, the miniHSM offers secure cryptographic key provisioning and storage, and a built-in real-time clock enables value-added functionality such as time-stamping in addition to the standard cryptographic functions of encryption, digital signing and authentication.
