Salto’s new Heavy Duty XS4 smart locks: engineered for maximum durability and security

Today, we are announcing the official launch of the Heavy Duty models of our XS4 Original+ and XS4 One S smart locks, designed specifically for high-traffic security doors, perimeter entrances, and extreme outdoor environments. The new models combine robust physical construction with electronic locking technology and advanced smart ID capabilities to provide a complete, high-security, keyless locking solution. 
 
Salto’s Heavy Duty XS4 Original+ and XS4 One S models are engineered for maximum durability, capable of withstanding high-security threats and even the harshest outdoor scenarios without compromising access control or ease of use.  
 

Certified high security for demanding environments  

With increased durability comes enhanced security, as these models have passed stringent trials. They achieved EN 16867 certification after securing the highest attack-resistance rating (47-B24D23) during testing. 
  
This premium grade demonstrates that these new smart lock models are ideally suited for installation on EN 1627 RC3 classified, burglary-resistant security door sets. Their enhanced resistance also makes them a recommended solution for locations with elevated security needs, such as upscale residential buildings, business premises, electronic data processing (EDP) or server rooms, and even banks. 
 

Unmatched durability and weather resistance  

Heavy Duty XS4 smart locks are built with significant physical reinforcements to withstand severe environmental conditions and vandalism. These hardware upgrades include an external, 4 mm black plate, a spindle protection cap, three additional rotating bolt protectors, and three installation bolts, with the third bolt located below the spindle. A brass bearing, meanwhile, provides gained durability, delivering long-term functionality with greater resistance to wear and tear. 
 
These models are also highly water-resistant: the sealed motor parts are treated with cataphoretic paint for superior corrosion protection, and specialized retaining and seal gaskets protect the handle, spindle, and IN/OUT areas.
