Building on its leadership in Korea’s video management market, Innodep is introducing VUNex, a next-generation, cloud-native video management platform designed specifically for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) worldwide. With the launch of VUNex, Innodep is expanding its smart surveillance vision from large-scale infrastructure projects to accessible, AI-powered cloud services.

“Our mission with VUNex is to empower small and medium businesses with enterprise-grade video management capabilities—delivered through the cloud,” says Eric Won, Deputy Manager of the Overseas Sales Team at Innodep. “By combining simplicity, scalability, and security, we enable organizations to build smarter, more connected environments with ease.”

Cloud-based, scalable, and AI-driven

VUNex integrates AI video analytics, edge computing, and open APIs into a unified cloud architecture. Unlike traditional on-premises systems, it can be deployed quickly, scaled easily, and managed remotely — all with significantly reduced operational costs. This makes VUNex ideal for SMBs in retail, logistics, healthcare, and public safety sectors seeking to modernize their operations without the burden of complex infrastructure.

One of the focus areas of Innodep’s global expansion across many verticals is Southeast Asia, where the Seoul-based company has identified the Thai market as an ideal steppingstone. Aside from VUNex, Innodep’s portfolio also includes the VURIX video management platform, a highly scalable, hybrid solution that builds on the company’s earlier TYBIS platform, an open solution for security infrastructures.

“Thailand is one of the most promising markets in Southeast Asia, with the government’s digital transformation agenda accelerating demand for smart city, mobility, and public safety solutions,” Won says. “The immediate opportunities lie in infrastructure upgrades in Bangkok and regional cities, where integrated platforms can make a real difference.”

Smart connectivity for global markets

While Innodep’s VURIX platform continues to power large-scale smart city projects, VUNex represents the company’s next phase — bringing Korean innovation to global SMBs through cloud-based services. In Thailand and Southeast Asia, where digital transformation initiatives are accelerating, Innodep aims to collaborate with local partners to deliver tailored solutions that match market needs.

“We believe in long-term partnerships built on reliability, not short-term price competition,” Won explains. “VUNex demonstrates value through scalability, integration, and lower total cost of ownership, aligning perfectly with our customers’ evolving needs.”

From security to smart services

VUNex embodies Innodep’s broader philosophy of “thinking beyond security.” It transforms surveillance systems into comprehensive platforms that support business intelligence, operational efficiency, and sustainability. Through interoperability with IoT devices and AI tools, VUNex enables new applications in smart mobility, environmental monitoring, and energy efficiency.

VUNex, which is also available as an edge box-based video analytics solution, enables real-time intelligent object recognition and behavior analysis, including in emergency situations, providing immediate alerts. Deployed in retail, it can also notify staff whether shelves are sufficiently stocked.

Its other functionalities include intrusion detection, restricted area access detection, asset protection, vehicle identification, theft and loitering detection, and many more. Its user-centric UI features natural-language search, map-based interfaces and vast customization options for maximum situational control.

“Our vision is to make advanced video management accessible to everyone—from startups to public institutions,” says Won. “With VUNex, we’re bringing the power of connected intelligence to every corner of the world.”

Innodep’s “thinking beyond security”-approach has cemented its leadership in the domestic market, where Innodep’s partnership with hardware-focused brands, including big players such as Hanwha, adds to its prowess.

“Our business model rests on central leadership and trusted partnerships,” says Won. “In many ways, this is consistent with what could be called ‘the Korean way’ of doing business—building relationships that are designed to last and to create shared growth.”

Expanding on a strong basis

Previously, Innodep’s regional strategy focused on large-scale public projects and infrastructure-focused solutions.

In Thailand, Innodep is already partnering with Mukdahan provincial police, focusing on enhancing public safety and crime prevention.

Another long-term partner of Innodep is Microsoft—one of the key players in Thailand’s data center boom. The integration of the wider cloud and AI infrastructures of global players with the Korean company’s tailor-made platform solutions creates a unique opening for Innodep and its philosophy. In this regard, Innodep is building bridges between partners on both ends.

“With global leaders we bring world-class technologies, while with local partners we ensure relevance and market alignment,” Won says. “When entering new and competitive markets, we aim to leverage this strength not simply as a product advantage but as a proven ability to deliver stability, scalability, and reliability.”

Keeping it seamless

In smart city projects as well as solutions for SMEs, Innodep’s focus is on enabling tailor-made integration.

“As technologies such as AI at the edge, cloud services, and IoT become more differentiated, seamless integration is both the greatest opportunity and the greatest challenge. Our response is to maintain a truly open architecture, standardized APIs, and a commitment to interoperability.” says Won. “But integration is not only technical. It also means ensuring security, governance, and operational efficiency, so that partners and customers can innovate with confidence on our platforms.”

The vast possibilities of Innodep solutions have been demonstrated most comprehensively in Suwon, a city of 1.2 million about 30km south of Seoul. As part of the city’s "Eco Mobility" initiative, the solutions are deployed city-wide to reduce traffic congestion and environmental impact by integrating electric vehicle charging infrastructure, traffic management systems, as well as real-time data analytics. They are also the foundation of the city’s "Smart Safety Services," which integrate video analytics and IoT sensors to enable proactive monitoring and swift response to potential threats.

Thailand, meanwhile, is seeing a surge in demand for large and medium-scale solutions alike, from smart cities to SMEs.

On the back of well-funded government initiatives to establish Thailand as a middle-income country with modern industries and services over the next two decades, infrastructure upgrades and new projects have sprung up in Bangkok and beyond, including in lesser developed regions. Nearly all verticals are part of the push for modernization, from healthcare to urban traffic, agriculture and the business sector.

This broad approach aligns with the philosophy of Innodep.

“We transform surveillance into a toolkit for smart mobility, healthcare, and sustainability,” Won states. “This represents a paradigm shift: from ‘security solutions’ to ‘urban life solutions.’”

“Our vision is of a connected, intelligent, and human-centric city,” he adds.

Innodep positions itself as a partner for future-ready solutions for urban centers in Thailand and beyond. “Future ready” can mean many things, but for Innodep its all revolves around harnessing innovation as it emerges, and enabling in all verticals from AI-powered predictive safety and disaster response to energy efficiency and data-driven intelligence.

As Innodep expands its portfolio with the introduction of VUNex, it ensures that SMEs can benefit from the latest innovations as well.
