Hanwha Techwin participated in ‘SECUTECH VIETNAM 2019,’ Vietnam’s biggest security event held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, from August 14th to 16th, and showcased its smart solutions tailored to local demands in various verticals.
Vietnam is a strategic country for Hanwha Techwin and the company is closely eyeing the nation with marketing programs specialized for Vietnam. At this exhibition, Hanwha Techwin showcased products and solutions optimized for the major verticals of:
smart factory,
smart city, retail and seaport.
Smart factory critical to Vietnam's industrialization
Smart factory is a critical vertical for Vietnam’s rapid industrialization and the Wisenet T series with its thermal cameras catching the attention of visitors. The solution triggers alarms and supports early response when the temperature rises above a certain trigger-point at industrial facilities with complex piping systems. Another attention-grabber at the exhibition was the AI solution that offers a safe working environment that includes swift responses to events by detecting abnormal behavior such as slips and falls at worksites or employees not wearing protective helmets at industrial complexes.
The company also presented key security solutions essential in building a smart city, which the Vietnamese government is actively pursuing. The exhibitions included
smart transportation, multi-directional monitoring, SSM (its own integrated management software), and AI solutions for urban environments. Traffic cameras and storage for
buses and trains in cities, and a multi-directional camera lineup offering wide area monitoring in multiple directions, were also introduced. In particular, the displayed AI solution uses various attribute information such as gender, hair color, and wearing glasses to rapidly locate a certain person, which can be applied to help reduce the time in finding suspects regarding crimes or accidents.
Retail and seaport solutions
As retail continues to heat up globally, Hanwha Techwin demonstrated its recently launched retail solution along with the Wisenet Q mini series. The camera is equipped with Business Intelligence features, providing insightful information such as number of visitors, popular products, and a visitor timeline to store managers. It not only offers safety monitoring, but also helps managers develop strategies to run their stores. Its compact size is optimized for store installation and blends well into any store décor, further increasing its popularity.
Considering almost half of Vietnam is bordering the sea, Hanwha Techwin showcased solutions tailored for seashores and seaports. Stainless cameras are highly resistant to corrosion, acid, and even against the high salinity of seawater and humid weather, while the stitching solution merges separate images filmed at the left, right, and upper sides of a container truck entering or exiting harbors into one connected image. A source at Hanwha Techwin said, “We are highly interested in Vietnam as the Hanwha Group is running diverse businesses in the country.” Adding, “Hanwha Techwin will exert our utmost efforts to build smart video surveillance solutions tailored to Vietnam.”
