Twoway Communications, a Taiwan exhibitor at this year’s secutech, is demonstrating a wide range of software products, flaunting its “soft” power.
The company began as an equipment provider for cable and telecom operators and has expanded into security and IoT, seizing the growth opportunities in these areas. In terms of video surveillance, Twoway is the distributor of a renowned U.S.-based VMS developer, whose software attracts with its ease-of-use and integration capabilities.
“It’s very intuitive to use, unlike other brands that are quite complex. Our goal is to make the software easy enough to use, even by less experienced users. In our observation, training can be done in two hours,” said Joe Tai, IoT Director at Twoway. “It’s also quite integrative, able to support all cameras that are ONVIF-based.”
The software is already being deployed at various government agencies in Taiwan. “We target markets that require more advanced VMS. At the same time, we offer more competitive prices than the major VMS brands,” he said.
Meanwhile, sensing the opportunities in IoT, Twoway has also entered this arena, offering a variety of sensors and end devices all through its original telco and cable operator channels, which sell them as a service and in return for a monthly fee.
What makes Twoway’s IoT solutions unique is again its software, which carries a social media function. “You can share the app with your friends, who can then help you check incidents in your home, say water leaks or break-in, even if you’re traveling or away from home,” Tai said.
