Stricter requirements for ONVIF compliancy
The ONVIF standard has a number of different versions that contain various features. Since the features required to integrate a system for a particular purpose are not necessarily part of the same version, ONVIF reorganized its version specifications into profiles, each of which covers a specific task; for example, Profile S contains streaming requirements while Profile G and Profile C cover the storage and access control features, respectively. The ONVIF test tool has also been adjusted to more accurately certify products that are compliant with a certain profile.
Profile S sets strict guidelines for the common components that are shared by ONVIF-compliant devices (e.g., cameras and codecs) and client programs (e.g., management software).
