It’s an ambitious project where the whole security of all their bank branches network is managed from a single control centre which has a virtual server and its back-up established in a high performance Data Center, located in another building.
Scati, leading manufacturer of network video recorder systems for the control and efficient surveillance of large facilities, has been chosen by the Bank, between more than 25 candidates, to manage the security of their facilities.
Brazil, where Scati is strongly established, is the country with the highest growth rate in Latin America and where there are the greatest business opportunities regarding construction and telecommunications sectors.
The Bank needed a professional security solution, specific for banking environments, to perform centralized management of the whole branches, consisting on about thousands of DVRs.
These Video Recording systems are managed from the control centre where there are twenty work stations and a video wall of nine screens. Furthermore, this solution enables a remote management by the bank’s security directors through the monitoring and administration tool Scati Watcher.
The project began when Scati adapted the Scati Suite functionalities to optimize its use based on operational Bank needs. Additionally customized features were required by the client in order to increase the security and the control within the institution.
Scati Suite is an open platform able to adapt to the needs of any video surveillance project and it also allows a Bandwidth Optimization during transmition of data. As a result, resolution and speed recording have been improved even using less bandwidth space. Thanks to that, the Control Centre gets higher quality images and higher frame rates with minor penalty on bank’s network.
On the other hand, different security solutions have been integrated since the alarm systems got connected, automation and home automation functionalities were implemented and a two way audio communication scheme, with three different environments on the branch, was designed.
Another benefit perceived by the bank has been the report system of the equipment status and the technical incidences on them (temperature, disks, settings, etc.). Also, the automated and distributed management of all the alarms taking place on the branches with its related video, allowing to set schedules and which operators will handle the alarm according to their character.
“The entity had a low performance analogue solution and it was unsuitable for banks. For that reason they considered the need to migrate to a more professional solution with which they could do a centralized management of all their bank branches. Scati, Video Management Systems, adapt perfectly to their needs offering a high quality image to identify people and providing video compression to adapt it to limited bandwidths.” says Miguel ángel Gimeno, International Business Development Manager in Brazil/Southern Cone
