Plustek Announces Powerful Upgrades to its Centralized Management Software “MultiManager”

Taipei, Taiwan (May 30, 2011) – Plustek Inc., the leading manufacturer of the innovative Linux-based standalone Network Video Recorder (NVR), announces today a notable upgraded to its Centralized Management Software “MultiManager”. This version introduces powerful enhancements and new features to further improve monitoring effectiveness and efficiency. The new “Smart Cycling Control” tool adds convenience to multiple-channel monitoring. Additionally, alert notification function is also improved to keep users alerted in order for better emergency response. User permissions function provides more system control and flexibility. It also adds more image and video output file types, recording performance, and user operations.

The new Smart Cycling Control tool is perfect for users needing in monitoring multiple channels with high definition. The Smart Cycling Control tool is available in 1, 4, 6, and 16 channel display modes for users to set automated timed switches of the viewing. The Smart Cycling Control tool can help to pay equal attention to all channels and prevent the accidental neglect of any channel due to a slip of mind.

This upgrade version includes enhanced alert notification function to aid users in responding to emergencies. For example, the new alarm notification and audio alerts feature on the control panel shows on the .location map. When an incident occurs, the channel will immediately pop up and display the current live view of the alarm site. If a newer alarm is triggered during this time, the new alarm will pop up and the old alarm will turn into a flashing icon. As soon as the alarm is triggered, the system will automatically turn into recording mode (if it is not set to continuous recording) for the next 90 seconds, and guarantee the entirety of the motion detection footage.

Accompanying these new features is an increase in permission setting flexibility, users can now set multi-tier privileges, customize permission levels. Administrators have the authority to back up data remotely. It can be set export schedules outside of peak hours and designate data transfer to any online server to ration storage. This user-directed backup procedure optimizes the process. Plustek’s Linux-based NVR Slim 240 and Slim 380 are petite and easy-to-hide to record the real-time data onsite. Users can enjoy a peace-of-mind knowing that all video footages are securely stored as captured; will not be lost due to internet instability or traffic.

Recording performances now reach up to 60 frames-per-second in HQ VGA (64-480). When put together with MultiManager’s flexible continuous, alarm and event, motion, snapshot, and manual recording modes and SMTP & FTP notifications, the upgrades mark an impactful advance of the software as a whole. Yet with all these new features, MultiManger remains extremely user friendly as the new version allows users to easily save their favorite tool bar settings.
