2011 has been a busy year for Initsys deployment engineers with several large PSIM installations being awarded to the company.

Early in the summer Initsys gathered it's latest national bank network project with Merlin being used to protect twelve hundred bank branches and four hundred ATM machines. The Merlin deployment includes connection to twelve different types of DVR, two alarm panels complete with full two way communication and two access control systems. In addition to the branch network the headquarters buildings were also connected to the central Merlin location, these headquarters buildings having 24 hour guarding and integration of systems to a Merlin Solo terminal.

Mid-Summer saw Merlin being installed at Shop Direct's C3 centre, where all the security for the UK's largest home and internet retailer is provided. All depots, distribution centres and company properties are protected by the centralised security offices. Merlin replaced the existing PSIM with its 3d graphic engine, automated decision maker and telephony solutions.

Late Summer saw the start of one of the world's largest PSIM deployments. CEVA logistics, the third largest logistics company in the world stripped out its existing (less than two years old) PSIM following an aggressive discovery and test period. Merlin beat three competitors on the basis of the completeness of the systems provided, namely integration, telephony and C3 capability.

For CEVA Merlin will provide protection for all properties worldwide. Using the Initsys network of Merlin installations CEVA will be able to process alarms centrally in Houston and then pass alarms locally in the country of origin by utilising Merlin's network alarm capability. Once verified the alarm will be passed to a local Merlin installation (often provided by third party partners) and from then to the Police.

Merlin has also been deployed in its second UK Police Control Room for protection of VIP, public buildings and city centre CCTV.
