XProtect Professional 2013 has a new camera discovery feature, which automatically detects and configures some cameras* being added to an existing system, enabling users to quickly expand their installation.

Performance enhancements
XProtect Professional 2013 introduces the possibility to add an unlimited number of Recording Servers to the XProtect Professional video system. This enables users to scale their installation easily and cost-efficiently. The performance of XProtect Professional 2013 has been optimized through 64-bit Recording Servers which enable users to connect more cameras to the same server unit.
Changes to the licensing of XProtect Professional 2013
A new Milestone XProtect Professional Slave Server License (XPPSSL) is introduced to XProtect Professional 2013. One XProtect Professional Slave Server License is required per Slave Server that is enabled in the XProtect Professional 2013 system. Special upgrade conditions for users running older version of XProtect Professional are available as follows:
* Users running XProtect Professional version 8.0/8.1 with a valid Software *Upgrade Plan (SUP) have the opportunity to upgrade to XProtect Professional 2013 *version with support for four Slave Servers for free
* Users running XProtect Professional version 8.0/8.1 without SUP can buy the three years opt in SUP and upgrade to XProtect Professional 2013 version with support for four Slave Servers or upgrade to XProtect Professional 2013 via the usual trade-in process and purchase enough Slave Serves to meet requirements.
