Geutebruck's VA-Missing software detects the removal of static objects from video-monitored scenes in museums, galleries and other exhibition venues, and in some environments it also provides useful information on abandoned objects.

VA-Missing compares the current image with its own background model of the scene and checks out discrepancies for matches with freely-defined criteria such as location, duration and object size (corrected for perspective). It avoids unwanted alarms by continually updating its background model to incorporate gradual changes such as slow moving shadows and by suppressing transient changes like those generated by passers-by. Available as an integrated option in new equipment or an easy upgrade for GeViScope surveillance platforms.
