Intersec Thailand, which was scheduled from Sept. 15 to 17, 2010 at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre, has been rescheduled to 2011 owing to the current political situation in Thailand. A new date for the event will be announced in due course.

The organizers Messe Frankfurt New Era Business Media and IPEX, International Promotion & Exhibition, rescheduled the event due to Thailand's unpredictable circumstances in the coming months.

"Despite Thailand's ongoing political climate, the show has received a strong response that has seen 80 percent of exhibition space being taken up," said Stephan Buurma, MD of Messe Frankfurt Asia Holding. "However, we believe it is best to reschedule the event. We will closely monitor the situation and reschedule the show to a more appropriate date."

Vallap Kingchansilp, President for the Asian Professional Security Association (APSA) – Thailand Chapter, said: "We are very confident about the security market and Intersec Thailand has good potential. The overwhelming response from the exhibitors reflects there is a high demand for security products and services in Thailand and the ASEAN region."

He added that Thailand is by far one of the biggest security and safety markets in the ASEAN region. The total market size for security and safety equipment for 2010 is estimated to reach USD 470 million.

Intersec Thailand is part of Messe Frankfurt's global network of security trade fairs, which is headed by the annual Intersec fair in Dubai. Messe Frankfurt also holds other four leading security trade fairs: Secutech Vietnam, Intersec Buenos Aires, Seguriexpo Buenos Aires and Secutech Expo in Taiwan.
