L-3 Communications acquired Insight Technology on April 14. Terms were not disclosed. Insight develops and manufactures mission critical night vision and electro-optical equipment and is headquartered in Londonderry, New Hampshire. The acquired business, renamed L-3 Insight Technology Incorporated, is expected to add approximately US$200 million to L-3's sales for 2010, and to be immediately accretive to L-3’s earnings.
Headquartered in New York City, L-3 employs approximately 67,000 people worldwide and is a prime contractor in command, control, communications, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems, aircraft modernization and maintenance and government services. L-3 is also a provider of a broad range of electronic systems used on military and commercial platforms. The company reported 2009 sales of $15.6 billion.
