The Physical Security Interoperability Alliance (PSIA), a global consortium of physical security providers focused on promoting the interoperability of IP-enabled devices, will host a series of lunch-and-learn events to educate end users, integrators and security consultants on the benefits of IP standards.

PSIA's educational seminars will be held in four cities throughout 2010 including Chicago, Boston, Dallas and the San Francisco Bay Area. These free educational events provide an opportunity for industry practitioners and installers to learn more about PSIA's systems-based approach to interoperability, which includes developing specifications for each specific technology segment. In addition, attendees will learn how standards will help decrease development costs, ease complex installations and build solutions to best protect infrastructure, people and intellectual property.

Speakers will include representatives from PSIA members, including some of manufacturers and systems integrators in the security industry. They will discuss advancements in standard developments and why PSIA's initiatives will help propel the adoption of IP-based security technologies.

"We are excited to have the opportunity to show the benefits of industry standards to a broader audience," said David Bunzel, Executive Director, PSIA. "Educational outreach is a critical component of our efforts and we believe that including every segment of the industry will only make us more successful in our mission of promoting and building interoperable solutions."
