Intersec Thailand, Asia's professional security and safety trade fair will take place from Sep. 15 to 17, 2010 at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre. This biennial event is organized by Messe Frankfurt New Era Business Media and IPEX (International Promotion & Exhibition). Messe Frankfurt New Era Business Media is the newly formed company resulting from Messe Frankfurt's acquisition of Taiwan's A&S Group. The fair expects to attract more than 100 exhibitors and 6,000 professional buyers to view the latest products and services in more than 5,000 square meters of exhibition space.

According to industry analysts, Thailand is one of the biggest security and safety markets in the ASEAN region, the Thai government recognizes the importance of having an international security and safety trade fair to further strengthen the industry. Already, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Labor and Royal Thai Police have confirmed their support for Intersec Thailand. The show also received strong support from many well-known local and overseas industry associations— Asian Professional Security Association – Thailand Chapter; ASIS International – Singapore Chapter; Executive Security Services Association of Thailand (ESSAT); International Security Industry Organisation (ISIO); Thai Contractor Association under His Majesty the King's Patronage and the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB).

In addition to a comprehensive range of security products, services and technologies showcased by local and overseas companies, Intersec Thailand offers a series of informative fringe programs to satisfy the different needs of suppliers, buyers and visitors.

This includes the 17th APSA International Conference, which will be held concurrently with the show. During the two-day conference, a number of industry leaders will analyze the latest technologies and market strategies to discuss the industry's most urgent issues. In addition, the first edition of the Global Digital Surveillance Forum Thailand will feature the latest IP and intelligent solutions showcased by industry's leading software and hardware providers.

Intersec Thailand will also feature a series of product presentations which provide an exclusive channel for exhibitors to introduce and demonstrate their latest products, services and technologies to potential customers.

With an emphasis on attracting foreign investment, the Thai government has launched new plans to combat crime and terrorism to create greater social stability. Budgets have been specifically allocated to strengthen city security measures. For example, the government has announced a security upgrade in public buildings including the Bank of Thailand, the Petroleum Authority of Thailand, Royal Thai customs and the new Thai parliament.

Thailand's economic stimulus package of US$3.3 billion is aiming to further develop critical infrastructure, which further fuels the demand for security solutions. Major infrastructure projects include the extension of Bangkok's mass rapid transit (MRT) system and the Suvarnabhumi Airport rail link, which both demand surveillance.

In addition, Thailand enjoys a strategic location at the heart of Asia, where the security market is growing steadily. Frost & Sullivan analysts have predicted that Asia-Pacific countries are annually growing by 7.5 percent, and should reach over $3 billion by 2015.

Intersec Thailand is part of Messe Frankfurt's global trade fair brand Intersec, which is headed by the annual Intersec fair in Dubai. Intersec also holds another fair in Kazakhstan. Messe Frankfurt holds three other leading trade fairs on security: Seguriexpo Buenos Aires in Argentina, Secutech Expo in Taiwan and Secutech Vietnam.
