Rapiscan Awarded $29 Million Screening Contract from US Customs and Border Protection

OSI Systems, a vertically-integrated provider of specialized electronic products for critical applications, announced its security division Rapiscan Systems received approximately US$29 million in orders from the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Rapiscan will provide multiple units of its advanced cargo and vehicle inspection solutions for customs inspections and security screening and various air and sea ports of entry.

The products to be provided under the contract reflect the broad range of Rapiscan's cargo and checkpoint inspection product line, including the Rapiscan Eagle Mobile and the Rapiscan GaRDS Portal. The fixed and mobile configurations utilizing both X-ray and gamma-ray technology provide the US government with a comprehensive inspection solution for the detection of a wide variety of threats and contraband.
