Epson and STOPware, a leader in visitor management solutions, today announced a partnership to bring next-generation visitor badge printing to organizations seeking stronger, smarter on-site security. The integration of Epson's ColorWorks on-demand color label printing technology with STOPware's trusted PassagePoint visitor management platform delivers elevated security, instant identification and operational efficiency at every visitor sign-in location.

A New Standard in Visitor Identification

ColorWorks printers deliver high-resolution, full-color badges on-demand, enabling STOPware customers to instantly produce photo-ready, color-coded visitor IDs complete with:
  • Visitor photos for instant human recognition
  • Color-coded access levels (e.g., vendor, contractor, guest)
  • Department or zone identifiers
  • Logos and brand elements that deter counterfeiting
  • QR/barcodes for secure digital check-in/out tracking

The on-demand color printing solution eliminates the need for pre-printed inventories and reduces bottlenecks while making badge security visually obvious the moment a visitor enters a space. This elevates the problem around traditional monochrome or pre-printed badges being difficult to read quickly and easy to replicate, leaving facilities vulnerable.

Color Enhances Security, Not Just Style

Color is more than aesthetic – it's a security multiplier. With purposeful use of color, STOPware's visitor management workflow helps teams make instant decisions based on visual cues. For example:

  • Colorcoded visitor types: Fast differentiation between visitors, contractors, vendors and temporary staff, reducing misdirected access and human error
  • Access zoning at a glance: Distinct badge colors linked to department or building zones help frontline staff confirm a visitor's authorized location without needing to consult a database
  • Photo ID: Including full-color photos significantly reduces the risk of badge cloning or unauthorized reuse
  • Branding: Customizing badges with logos and brand colors helps authenticate badges and elevates overall experience
  • Integrated barcodes/QR codes: Enables secure scanning at checkpoints and tighter integration with access control systems

"We're seeing firsthand that on-demand, full-color badge printing can help enable safer and faster access decisions, especially in high-traffic environments like hospitals, schools, corporate campuses or government facilities," said Michael Weitz, product manager, ColorWorks, Epson America.

Operational Success Through Integration

By integrating ColorWorks CW-C4000 and CW-C6000 printers with STOPware's visitor management software, organizations can produce badges in real time without requiring separate printer inventories or manual badge stock replacements. On-demand printing ensures badges are always current, contain precise visit data, and reflect an organization's security policies.

"Visitor badges are a frontline tool in ensuring building safety. By combining ColorWorks color printing technology with STOPware's platform, organizations gain instantaneous visual clarity and robust identification without slowing down visitor flow," said Debbie Pendleton, COO of STOPware, Inc.
