Gunnebo Safe Storage has introduced TransitGuard, a mobile vault solution designed to provide certified physical security in locations where permanent secure infrastructure is not available.

TransitGuard is constructed with a reinforced container format and engineered to meet recognised European burglary resistance standard (EN1143 - 1.) The solution is intended for organisations requiring high levels of physical protection during transport, temporary deployment or operations conducted outside fixed facilities.

Typical use cases include defence and security operations, critical infrastructure projects and environments where assets must remain protected while being moved or deployed in the field.

“Organisations are increasingly required to secure high value or sensitive assets across temporary sites, transit points and decentralised operations, where a traditional vault infrastructure cannot be installed,” says Jacob Duhan, Head of Defence at Gunnebo Safe Storage. “TransitGuard was developed to address this by extending certified vault level protection to environments that were previously difficult to secure to the same standard.”

The mobile vault is compatible with standard logistics and transport systems, enabling movement by road, rail or sea. Once positioned, TransitGuard functions as a safe storage environment capable of protecting field equipment, protective gear, classified documents and materials together with operational tools and combat resources. Its design supports both short term and extended use, depending on operational needs and risk assessments.

TransitGuard can be configured to different security grades and equipped with electronic locking systems, alarm interfaces and internal layouts tailored to specific operational requirements. Additional options such as internal lighting, power integration and environmental controls support usability in a wide range of deployment conditions, while maintaining compliance with applicable security standards.

“By applying recognised security standards to mobile storage, organisations can better align risk management, compliance and operational continuity across transport and deployment phases,” adds Jacob. “This proactive approach in launching TransitGuard helps ensure protection levels remain consistent, regardless of where the asset is located.”

The introduction of TransitGuard reflects a broader shift in how organisations manage physical security across distributed operations. As assets move between permanent facilities, temporary locations and operational zones, security controls increasingly need to be designed around the asset itself rather than a fixed site.
