Thai developer Central Pattana is spending $185.3 million to build its 29th shopping mall – the CentralFestival East Ville.
The new centre, in Bangkok’s Praditmanutham Rd., will be the company’s first lifestyle outdoor mall, modeled after neighborhoods like London’s Covent Garden and New York’s East Village.
The 135,000 sqm centre will be home to 200 tenants when it opens in November 2015.
“CPN has set our business development strategies and directions in a new dimension to differentiate ourselves from other players, and strengthen our positioning as the regional leader in shopping mall development,” said senior VP Wallaya Chirathivat.
CPN is also developing the CentralPlaza Salaya scheduled to open in August and Central Rayong opening in 2015.
Rival, The Mall Group, is also embarking on expansion, developing the EmQuartier, slated to open by the end of this year and the Sphere opening in 2017.
