“The police would arrive at the crime scene in short notice with the help of information provided by surveillance cameras,” Selangor CPO Senior Deputy Comm Datuk Mohd Shukri Dahlan said during the soft launch of the Home Safe Home Programme.

The programme, a private initiative by Divaforce, will see residential or business premises linking their security alarms to the Central Monitoring System (CMS). The 24-hour CMS comes with complete remote monitoring and on-site patrols.

“We would also caution that some crimes are conducted by hired security guards, hence we encourage companies to have in-house detectives as a counter check. We can also assist them to do background checks on their security personnel if needed,” he said.

As of September last year, Selangor’s crime index rose to 12.36%. However, that figure has declined to 8.11% as of Feb 11 this year.

Currently, the CMS service is available in Selangor, with an initial focus in the areas of Subang Jaya and its nearby vicinity and Kota Damansara, where it is headquartered. The CMS service fee starts at $12 a month.

“We are providing essential home security services at a very affordable price. This deal is sweetened with products and services from our Smart Partners.”
Woo added the CMS services would be extended to the public in other states, including Penang and Johor, within six months. Eventually it would be made available to the whole of Malaysia.
In its first year of operation, the security services company is expecting up to 100,000 subscribers.
