Scomi Energy wins $58M contract in Thai

Scomi Energy Services Bhd (formerly known as Scomi Marine Bhd) (SESB) has clinched a $58 million contract from PTTEP Siam Limited (PTTEPS) and PTTEP International Limited (PTTEPI).

The 3-year contract is to supply drilling fluids for an onshore drilling campaign in Thailand.

“SESB’s growth progress is on the right track as we strengthen our presence in the Asian oil & gas sector. We are glad to have received PTTEP’s vote of confidence in our products and services, especially for the Thailand market," said SESB CEO Shah Hakim Zain

Besides Thailand, SESB is also providing similar services to the PTTEP Group of companies in Australia and Myanmar.

The contract represents SESB’s largest oilfield services contract currently held in Thailand.

SESB recently announced contract wins in Myanmar for Petronas and in Indonesia for Virginia Indonesia Company, with a combined value of $49 million.

The total value of SESB’s contract wins announced in 2014 has breached the $108 million mark.
