Manila police to reduce crime by half by 2015

Police target to bring down street crimes in Metro Manila by 50 percent by 2015, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said on Tuesday.

NCRPO director Chief Superintendent Carmelo Valmoria has ordered police district head in the metropolis during the yearly New Year's Day Call at Camp Bagong Diwa in Bicutan, Taguig City to work double time to achieve the target, according to reports.

During the same event, Valmoria said the crime index in Metro Manila was higher last year because blotters and complaints coming from barangays were included unlike in 2012 when the reports came from police stations.
