Asia's first and only Open Sea Water Park was soft-launched in Batu Ferringhi, Penang today.

Known as the Wet World Wild (WWW) Adventure Park, the RM3 million (US$ 910 thousand) theme park in the state is located nearby Moonlight Bay facing the Batu Ferringhi-Teluk Bahang hilly routes.

Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng who officiated the soft opening said this was the second theme park in the state after the Escape Theme Park which is located in Teluk Bahang.

"From zero theme parks before 2008, we now have 2 theme parks and we believe more parks will be built in the future to serve as attraction points for locals and tourists, " he said.

He also said that the park was able to accomodate 800 visitors a day, adding that the park was derived from German technology.

"Hopefully the park can be fully completed and launched before Chinese New Year next month," he said.
