Aakash Universal may be new to the security industry, but it is no stranger to the Indian market. Already having a presence in 12 verticals including film, marble/ granite, textiles, tolls, real estate development, etc., in 2012 Aakash decided to bring its experience to the security market under the brand name CORE. CORE will target the access control, fire, and video surveillance sectors of the Indian security market.
As the security market in India grows, Aakash believes in the potential the market holds. Rahul Ambegaokar, CEO of Aakash Universal pointed to a “new boom” in Access control in India, with demand for access control equipment on the rise as more commercial establishments begin to use it.
By targeting three specific channels — distributor, tender, and franchise — Aakash is confident they can penetrate the Indian security market. The company plans to have 175 distributors across India and franchises set up in 25 cities by March 2014. Furthermore, with plans to set up over 65 service centers, Aakash will be able “to reach the door of the end user”.
While Aakash’s plans may seem ambitious, Ambegaokar and his team are confident. With their well-established reputation and networks in India, Aakash is more than determined to make their plans come to fruition.
