The Indonesian subsidiary of French energy firm Total E&P recently completed the construction of three offshore platforms for Sisi-Nubi 2B and Peciko gas fields in the Mahakam Block in East Kalimantan.

The platforms were built at the Gunanusa shipyard in Cilegon and took four days to reach East Kalimantan. The development of the second phase of the Sisi Nubi fase 2 and Peciko 7B cost roughly US$2 billion.

The first production of gas was projected for the second or third quarter of 2014; the Peciko 7B field will contribute a total of 23 new wells while Sisi-Nubi 2 will contribute 35 new wells. Each of the platforms was designed for a production capacity of around 200 million metric standard cubic feet of gas per day.
