Four airport projects awarded in the Philippines

According to the Philippine Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC), four firms were awarded with four separate airport projects in Visayas and Mindanao on Sept 30. They are:

1. D.G. Sarmenta Construction won the Semi-Permanent Airport Terminal Project at the Puerto Princesa Airport for US$500,000 (Peso 21.5 million);

2. V.T. Lao Construction to develop Dipolog Airport for $620,000;

3. Advance Tech Construction & Trading for the Zamboanga Airport Development Project for $133,000;

4. Vesa Engineering and Construction for the Catarman Airport Development Project for $175,000.

Michael Arthur C. Sagcal, spokesperson of DOTC, said, "[These] will improve passenger convenience by allowing the airports to meet increasing tourist arrival in the meantime of upgrading [the airports,] and we are aiming for this to be done by summer next year."
