LG announced it will unveil at CES 2019 its next-generation washer and dryer set with large capacities and voice assistant capability.

The TWINWash washer and dryer, which is a 2019 CES Innovation Award winner, will make its debut in Las Vegas later this month.

Equipped with Wi-Fi and SmartThinQ, the TWINWash washer and dryer are compatible with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, enabling the user to turn the machines on or off, start or pause a load, monitor the cycle status and more using voice commands or a smartphone app.

The dryer’s Smart Pairing function can save users from manually choosing a drying cycle as LG’s intelligent technology suggests the most optimal setting.

While the main washer handles the larger load, another washing unit underneath will do the smaller load or more delicate clothing that requires a gentler touch. In other words, two loads can be done simultaneously. In addition, the dryer will do a third load with a low temperature.

A lower drying temperature allows homeowners to save energy expenses. In addition, clothes will last longer and shrink less, says LG.

“Our TWINWash demonstrates LG’s innovation to laundry care that is constantly evolving to provide even more convenience,” said Song Dae-hyun, president of LG Electronics Home Appliance & Air Solution Company. “By constantly enhancing our core technologies, we will continue to deliver intelligent products that make life easier.”
