The average residential flood claim amounts to more than $30,000 per flood – and is not covered in most standard homeowners insurance policies. Sump pumps are designed for keeping water from entering homes, but when severe weather knocks out electricity, or the primary sump pump fails, the home is at risk for extensive damage. To solve the electrical outage problem that causes sump pump failure, Pentair collaborated with Arrayent, to bring to market the Flotec FPDC30 battery backed up sump pump with Pentair's unique Virtual Water Assistant feature.

The Virtual Water Assistant is a cloud based service that continually monitors the backup system and sends text or email alerts to any mobile or desktop computer device if problems are detected. The Assistant alerts homeowners when the backup pump has activated during an emergency, when home power is lost, or when the battery charge is low – all of which may lead to costly basement flooding. Arrayent Connect Platform offers solutions to deliver experiences of low-cost and simplicity for connected products like Pentair's Flotec FPDC30.

The Flotec FPDC30 is available on Amazon and True Value e-stores.
