Edimax creates EdiLife for smart life style

Edimax Technology provides a range of smart life and home networking products at Computex 2015. Through experiencing an imitative circumstance of the smart life in the booth, customers can get more vivid concepts of EdiLife through a whole latest series of connected home networking technology.
Edimax manufactures all connected devices including related APPs designed to be extra helpful with energy usage metrics and smartphone or email notifications. “Now there are specific APPs for different category of devices, however, we will connect them into our EdiLife system to be a complete platform soon,” said Albert Chang, OBM BU Senior Assistant Manager of Edimax. "While we build up a complete system of hardware and software, it will be easy to connect more devices in the future."
Home devices are mainly focused on 2 dimensions now: cameras and smart plugs. Wi-Fi network cameras provide round-the-clock, high-definition, remote monitoring, as well as acting as sensory inputs for smart plugs (e.g. motion and sound detection). The motion detection uses passive infrared (PIR) sensors. Snapshots or video footages can be triggered automatically and emailed to users. Also they can be saved to SD card or FTP. The outdoor camera can be positioned anywhere and links back to an indoor Wi-Fi unit.
Smart plug switch embedded power meter offers remote control via users' home appliances and electronics from any smartphone. With network cameras’ thermometric and humid sensor, it will trigger smart plug actions to manage home energy. "We will keep developing more connected devices to broaden our product line based on the platform for fitting more customers' needs of smart life," said Chang.
