Hungarian biometrics firm, BioSec Group has revealed that it has integrated its biometric authentication solution with Honeywell’s WIN-PAK access control system. The integration enables many benefits for both present and future Honeywell customers, with a special regard to the additional layer of security, which biometrics offer.

As a result of the integration, the Honeywell WIN-PAK security platform, which has many product options on the security market from a simple access control system to a complex integrated security implementation is expanded with one of the most advanced biometric technologies, palm vein recognition. The palm vein recognition based technology has many advantages compared to other biometric solutions, since it measures an inner characteristics, the vein structure within the hand. As a result of it, the vein template cannot be stolen, copied or reproduced as in case of other biometric technologies, which use surface characteristics for personal authentication. In addition, the palm vein recognition based technology identifies the vein structure in 5 000 000 reference points in less than 1 second, ensuring an outstanding security level, combined with ease of use and fast authentication time.

BioSec’s biometric authentication solution, the BS LifePass was specially developed to integrate the security of the palm vein recognition based technology into any system, since it works as a middleware. The BS LifePass can be either used for replacing or completing passwords, cards or other external identifiers, according to the client’s expectations.

“Bringing biometric authentication to the WIN-PAK system enables users to enjoy the highest security level without compromising convenience, regardless of location or user number. In addition, existing infrastructures do not have to be replaced” said BioSec Group CEO, Péter Györgydeák.

BioSec Group is a dedicated developer of innovative security solutions based on palm vein recognition. The company is specialized in biometric mass authentication, logical- and physical access control solutions, ensuring highly secure, easy to use and convenient solutions in every fields of life.
