Video surveillance is now ubiquitous in cities, the availability of video footage is a major pillar in every safe and smart city project around the world. With the rising camera counts, also rises the need for a good solution to sift through all the information to gain actionable intelligence in a timely manner.

asmag.com spoke to Sunny Kong, Sales Director, Asia, in Qognify, one of the companies taking part in Secutech Thailand’s Intelligent Video Gallery about its plans for the show and the Thai market. Qognify’s video solution focus on big data solutions for physical security and operations and are designed to address this exact problem of gaining the right information in the right time. What are the most important vertical markets that you are targeting in Thailand and why?

Kong: The current government is investing in safe city projects and there are a lot of opportunities currently in the market. Customers are keen to look for solutions that not only cater to Video Management, they are also savvy enough to look at Situation Management to enhance services to their residents in each country and townships. The platform that could assist different stake holders in the government agency becomes paramount in their selections.

What do you feel are the latest market trends that are impacting, or will impact your business in Thailand?

Kong: Educating the market on how make data actionable will be the key trend in the near future. This will highly impact the market as we are bringing smartness in the use of the system and ensuring fast ROI to the end-users’ investment. The future adoption of a smarter system can have great impact the market where we will lead the paradigm shift from security only to operations, and from data management to operational, actionable intelligence.
