Tyco Security Products introduces the integration of Assa Abloy Aperio Wireless Lock Technology with all editions of Kantech EntraPass Security Software 7.0, for a fully integrated and managed lock solution that expands access control to include nearly any internal door or opening in a facility, enabling incremental wireless lock deployment.

When integrated with EntraPass 7.0 Security Software, Assa Abloy Aperio Wireless Lock Technology offers an affordable way to bring the flexibility of wireless lock technology to any internal door in a facility, including cabinets, drawers and server racks in settings such as universities, pharmacies, hospitals, human resources departments, data centers and any other interior door where electronic access control was previously cost prohibitive. Aperio Wireless Lock Technology offers the same real-time communication common to traditional access control systems, but also can be installed or retrofitted in existing facilities with little to no operational disruption.

With the integration, Assa Abloy Aperio Wireless Locks become part of the EntraPass security software eco-system and can be managed from the EntraPass interface for a unified security management experience, controlling core functions such as managing events, reporting and integrated mapping. A hardwired connection enables reliable communications between the Aperio hub and state-of-the-art Kantech KT-1-M and KT-400 door controller, which controls decisions on the locks. Wireless connectivity, secured with 128-bit AES encryption, connects the locks back to the Aperio hub.

The KT-1-M door controller can support a wired full-one-door configuration or two additional wireless locks with an additional software license purchase. Similarly, the KT-400 door controller can support eight additional wireless locks beyond its standard wired full-four-doors, also with the addition of software licenses.

“The Kantech ethos centers on delivering cutting-edge technologies to the small to medium business market, while also providing this market the freedom to expand their businesses and operations at their own speed,” said Jason Ouellette, Product Line Director for Access Control at Tyco Security Products. “The integration between Assa Abloy Aperio Wireless Lock Technology and EntraPass 7.0 Security Software marries the flexibility and affordability of wireless lock technology with the advanced security management and intuitive user interface of EntraPass 7.0.”

The Assa Abloy Aperio Wireless Locks supported by the integration are ideal for a wide array of interior environments including mortise, cylindrical, and exit devices for standard doors and an electronic cylinder to replace a traditional mechanical keyed cylinder. Wireless cabinet locks, which can be used for cabinets, lockers and drawers, are well-suited for healthcare facilities for storing equipment, prescriptions, patient files and other valuables, while a server rack lock option improves the security level of data centers and hardware.
