E-CON Automation innovates AGV systems

Automated guided vehicles (AGV) systems are usually used to automate the workflows in the factories, warehouses, manufacturing production lines to manage and execute transport tasks, for different industries.

At secutech this year, a Taiwanese manufacturer, E-CON Automation, showcased Shifty series AGV system, which innovates the traditional ones to make it more agile to move in different directions.

The system is also guided by the tape paved on the floor and the optical transmitters/sensors to confirm its travelling routes and complete the programmed tasks, which make it more reliable and avoid human errors.

Just because of using the tape to guide the travelling routes, the system can particularly fit the requirements of the factories or warehouse which have a more flexible arrangement of their product lines.

With the trend of industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), the AGV system will definitely become an important subsystem, to be integrated to the main automation system.
