VIVOTEK launches new H.265 IP surveillance solutions

VIVOTEK has unveiled new H.265/HEVC surveillance solutions, including a series of 3-Megapixel and 5-Megapixel network cameras, NVRs (network video recorders), and professional VMS (video management software). To maximize bandwidth and storage efficiency, VIVOTEK introduces Smart Stream II technology to achieve greater cost-effectiveness. By adopting VIVOTEK’s Smart Stream II and H.265 technology, users will benefit from reduced bandwidth and data storage demands by up to 80 percent more than systems employing H.264. All of this allows VIVOTEK to reach a new milestone in IP surveillance. “H.265/HEVC, the new video compression technology can bring out twice the efficiency of H.264. VIVOTEK aims to advance this great achievement through its self-developed Smart Stream II technology,” says Tim Su, Director, PM and Marketing Division at VIVOTEK. “VIVOTEK’s Smart Stream II technology can optimize resolutions for a desired object or area to maximize the efficiency of bandwidth usage. By combining H.265 and Smart Stream II, we are able to create the most efficient system possible.” Su went on to add,

VIVOTEK will initially introduce the V-Pro H.265 network cameras, a range of 3-Megapixel and 5-Megapixel network cameras available in versatile types. Equipped with WDR Pro and SNV (supreme night visibility) technology, the new V-Pro H.265 network cameras ensure high quality images under any lighting conditions. Making this range one-of-a-kind are H.265 box type network cameras, featuring a Gigabit Ethernet port and snapshot focus functions with faster data transmission and the ability to precisely focus cameras even for fast moving objects. For harsh environments, purpose-built outdoor bullet and vandal-proof network cameras are armed with weather-proof IP66-rated and vandal-proof IK10-rated housing to offer a wide operating temperature range from -50°C to 50°C.

As well as these advanced network cameras, VIVOTEK also introduces two H.265 compatible NVRs, the 32-channel ND9541, and 16-channel ND9441. Both NVRs fully support H.265 video compression technology and up to 24TB storage capacity with 4 hard disk trays, which offer 30 percent to 50 percent more recording capacity compared to other similar systems equipped only for H.264 compression. Further, a de-warping function enables a panoramic image to be recorded while areas of interest are displayed in fine detail. Thanks to the EZConnect APP, users are able to remotely monitor their surveillance system from any iOS or Android device at any time, from anywhere. Finally, VIVOTEK releases the new generation of VMS, VAST Version 1.11. This new version supports the H.265 codec and a software license. By implementing a software license, users no longer need to worry about the cost or the risk of damage to a USB dongle. Meanwhile, users can use the free default 32-channel license, which can be securely relocated to anywhere, instantly. The new VAST Version 1.11 also features a built-in Intelligent Alarm Management function, which empowers security staff to record the alarm status and take notes for quick research and efficient management.
