Dahua, in conjunction with Videotrends, was entrusted with the task of securing the property and the privacy of celebrity guests staying at the Villa d'Este, an award-winning prestigious hotel in Cernobbio, Italy.

To ensure strict monitoring of the entrances, parking lots and other outdoor areas and eliminate possible unsafe factors, the hotel chose to install a professional video surveillance system consisting of 75 camera units of different types from the Dahua Eco Savvy 2.0 series.

The series features a 4-megapixel progressive-scan CMOS, which delivers high quality images at 20 fps, much clearer than the results from a traditional 1080p camera. It also comes with a range of smart detection features, including face detection, tripwire detection, and intrusion detection are included. WDR image enhancement technology, triple video streams, and Intelligent Video Surveillance (IVS) are among its many features. The wide dynamic range (120dB) ensures the cameras can perform well in scenes that are backlit as well as those situated in dark areas, which has traditionally been challenging for surveillance cameras. The high definition images can enable the hotel personnel to see details of the scenes and result in better security.

Majority of the cameras were installed mainly in the primary areas for monitoring. In addition, Dahua also upgraded the existing NVRs, allowing support of up to 128 channel IP cameras input with 1080P real-time live view as well as smooth video streams.

The hotel simultaneously installed specially designed video door phone (VDP) systems for the interior of the villa which features outdoor visual intercom, face recognition access control, card unlock, indoor monitor unlock, and camera surveillance. A complete parking guidance system solution that can monitor, record, analyze and read license plates was also installed. All these informational inputs can be recorded and classified for rapid access of important information when searching for a particular event.
