The team at TDSi’s Poole headquarters has held a ‘Bake Off’ event to raise money for Dorset and Wiltshire Children's Hospices Julia's House.

“The Bake Off is the latest activity we have run to keep the fundraising momentum going for Julia’s House. Having run a similar themed event before, it has proven to be a popular one amongst the team and their families for obvious reasons,” TDSi's Marketing Co-ordinator Sophie Wilkins commented.

Sophie added, “The TDSi team take the competition very seriously though, with a lot of effort and skill poured into each cake to prove the maker’s bakery skills and impress the judges and other tasters alike. The entries were sold off and the proceeds go directly to helping this fantastic cause.”

Judges Alan Burgess and Mike Lee awarded first place to Product and Marketing Manager Sarah Phillips, with a fresh fruit Victoria sponge. Second place went to Katie Sussman (daughter of TDSi’s Technical Director Mike Sussman) with her rainbow cake and third place was awarded to Finance Manager Tanya Healey with her fruit slice. Other delicious treats that were offered included lemon tart, banana muffins, french fancies, raspberry cheesecake, chocolate caramel cheesecake and red velvet brownies.

Sophie concluded, “Along with a DVD sale, the event raised £65 for Julia’s House and proved to be a highly enjoyable event for everyone involved. We have a continually evolving calendar of fundraising events taking place throughout the year. We also recently held a Greyhound Racing event and TDSi’s Managing Director, John Davies, is in training to run the Bournemouth Marathon, which is taking place on 4th October, with the sponsorship money also being donated to Julia’s House.”
