John Ballantine, CTO of Verify Technologies was a special speaker for GDSF today, who gave an exciting talk about how adopting ONVIF can create value for security consultants, integrators, and equipment manufacturers.
ONVIF is an industry-led, volunteer-run, membership-funded open industry platform, which is committed to the adoption of IP in the security market. Due to the broad set of protocols, applications of IP has evolved differently in different industries, therefore there is little standardisation to get different sub-systems and software platforms to work together is often complex and technically challenging for security integrators.
As more and more companies adopt ONVIF, the effective standards promise to benefit the security industry and all those who participate.
