Safran names Adam Smith Group General Counsel

Adam Smith is appointed Group General Counsel of Safran with effect from September 1, 2014. He replaces Celeste Thomasson, who became President and CEO of MorphoTrak, a US subsidiary of Morpho, in January 2014.

Adam Smith, 49, is a British and French national. He holds a degree in law from University College London (1987), an MBA from London Business School (1996), and a Master's degree in History from Sheffield Hallam University (2013). He is a solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales. Adam Smith started his career in 1988 as a solicitor at Lovells (London), then became an investment banker at Dresdner Kleinwort Benson (London). In 2008, after heading M&A Legal Affairs at EADS (Paris) for ten years, he became General Counsel of Cassidian, recently renamed Airbus Defence and Space (Munich). Since 2010 he has been Group General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of DCNS (Paris).
