High flexibility that allows everything. The reader chips of the LEGIC 4000 series support a variety of different applications on a wide range of contactless smartcards. Thus, the operator has the freedom to adapt the system to his needs. Although the 4000 series is designed for LEGIC advant transponder chips, it also supports LEGIC prime and most third-party transponders such as MIFARE. The chips are characterized by an integrated application management and a low power consumption.

The multi-functional 4000 series of LEGIC Identsystems Ltd comprises of the SM-4200 and the SM-4500 reader chip. SM-4200 reader chip is the flexible standard chip for an efficient processing of ID media in daily use. SM-4500 reader chip adds the personalization functions for the initialization of transponder chips.

Freedom for ideas
The LEGIC 4000 series allows many choices. It does not matter if one uses LEGIC transponder chips or third-party products like MIFARE: a maximum of flexibility is guaranteed. Thanks to the integrated abstraction of all third-party transponders, products on the basis of the 4000 series can easily be integrated into existing installations. The compact dimensions allow a use in various applications. Thanks to the simple design-in, products can be rolled out faster and the maintenance can be simplified. With regular updates, LEGIC offers the possibility to supplement installed components with new functions and thereby secure the investment of the system operator over the long term.

Integration of Peer-to-Peer
Already in 2007, our 4000 series reader chips were NFC capable. In the latest update, the LEGIC OS-4000 V3.0, the Peer-to-Peer mode was integrated. The Peer-to-Peer mode allows a new dimension of usability and offers an additional interface for inserting an application into the mobile world. Therewith, devices are able to become part of the Internet of Things via smartphone.

Security first
The components of the 4000 series offer a range of flexibly configurable security measures and thus serve the high security requirements of applications such as access control and electronic payment systems. The system can be updated regularly to meet requirements.

The integrated LEGIC Master-Token System-Control is a unique security concept. Instead of passwords, security is linked to a physical smartcard. The owner of the Master-Token thus has the authority over an installation and is able to assign and remove all rights. With all its benefits, the LEGIC 4000 series is the right choice for all contactless applications.
