Liwayway, the Philippines-based food maker, has established a strong presence in China ever since it first entered the market in the 1980's, producing and selling snack and confectionary products under the well-known brand, Oishi. To cater to the growing nation-wide demand, the company set up numerous production sites across China. Two of the plants are located in Shanghai and Jiangxi, which each needed a video surveillance system to monitor the premises and to ensure property and staff safety.

The specifications were rather straightforward. It was versatility that the management was looking for. Aside from system reliability, the management demanded that the video quality need be excellent for 24/7 surveillance at both indoor and outdoor environments. On top of which, the cameras also have to offer a more dynamic range of coverage area in meeting different field of view requirements at each location across the entire sites, ranging from main access points, warehouses, hallways, to outer perimeters.

Solution
Liwayway entrusted the project to Novida, a leading system integrator and a total solution provider who specialized in video surveillance technology. Based on the requirements, nearly 150 MESSOA CCTV cameras were opted for this project, which included the SCR367 and the SCR363 700TVL IR bullet cameras. The cameras were chosen for their professional-grade specifications, featuring DNR, WDR, and mechanical day/night functionality that allow the cameras to adapt to diverse lighting conditions. The camera sensitivity is enhanced by Lumii Low Light Technology to deliver sharper and clearer images than those of conventional 700TVL cameras.

Most importantly, both the SCR367 and the SCR363 are equipped with a 3.3-12mm varifocal lens, suitably providing flexible view coverage to either see wide or up-close depending on different installed locations. The built-in 35-meter (115 feet) Infrared LED further provides night vision needed for outer perimeter monitoring as lighting condition was awfully poor at night.

Results
With the cameras installed in position, the surveillance system based on MESSOA CCTV solution gave Liwayway an effective, systematic means to manage and control of main public areas and critical sections of the manufacturing site. The cameras, as promised, delivered superior image performance the management team had hoped for in the first place. The exceptional image quality enables the security personnel to maintain a spontaneous yet precise grasp of on-site video information, thereby helping the management team streamline the production operation and improve worker safety and event response time at once.
