Axis Communications has seen a consistent growth in the Thai market with a high ROI. The company is looking to expand its team in Thailand due to the prospective opportunities in the country. Other countries with high potential are Malaysia and Indonesia. Nafis Jasmani, Country Manager of ASEAN at Axis Communications, is expecting major growth in Asia for the upcoming years, since Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia have more countries to develop. Asia is also one of the key places for their global expansion.

Recently, the company has been exploring more opportunities in Thailand within the private and commercial sectors such as shopping malls, new apartments, and new hotels due to the increasing construction of related facilities and buildings along the MRT line. Previously, the local team was focused on government projects and public sectors, with major verticals such as education, healthcare, and hospitality. The local team was also proposing solutions, with its partners, to the government on city surveillance complemented with traffic monitoring, along with surveillance with video analytics in strategic locations. The interest is focused towards image clarity, quality, performance, real time, and intelligence. For example, when performing face recognition, the image used needs to be at least 80-100 pixels to yield an accurate result. City surveillance would therefore require high definition, which is more commonly found in network cameras rather than analog cameras.

For Thailand, the company is predicting an estimated 15 percent growth each year for IP adoption, while analog and hybrid will still be in some surveillance installations.
